Position description
This position is responsible for providing professional ophthalmic care for all patients.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent.
Ability to take blood pressure.
Knowledge of types of examinations, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
Skill in maintaining records and written reports.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, physicians and other allied health staff.
Additional qualifications
Preferred: One to two years of experience in an Optometric or Ophthalmology setting.
License or certification
Must have current CPR certification, or become certified within 30 days of employment.
Becomes JCAHPO certified as Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) within three years of starting in the NCOA role.
