An Optical Assistant with Lake Eye Associates is an exciting opportunity to learn on the job in an industry that combines the love of retail and medical devices. Detail oriented, able to multi-task and customer service skills are a must!
Essential Job Functions:
- Listen and address the needs of patients as evidenced by company standards and policies.
- Answer the phones, and communicate patient’s needs to the Opticians and Optical Technicians.
- Efficiently take orders for contact lenses, create contact lens encounters, and order lenses from suppliers.
- Navigate insurance websites to assist patients with the available benefits and costs associated with their plan.
- Sell and create orders for accessories.
- Learn the lensometer.
- Assist with frame inventory.
Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and manage time accordingly to meet deadlines and requirements of the organization.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position based in Tavares, FL.
- Full-time position with days and hours Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm.
- Travel to other locations is required
Education and Experience:
- A high school graduate or equivalent (required)
- Excellent communication and listening skills in order to properly address patient needs (required)
- Customer Service or service-related experience (required)
