Full Time, Weekdays. 40 hours/week. 9:30am – 6:00pm.

Pay Range is between $19.00-$24.09/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. **Range includes evening differential. +$2.00/hr for weekend shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY

Promotes effective material management by performing daily ordering and inventory control functions of all supplies utilized by the surgery department at both campus locations, in stock or by special order. Works as a member of a team with other warehouse clerks and purchasing staff to maintain adequate inventory stock levels in patient-care areas and warehouse storerooms for all facilities as established. Receives incoming shipments/supplies, being accountable for accurate accounting of quantity and quality of goods received. Is accountable for accurately issuing out supplies; and charging appropriate departments for supplies received from the warehouse storerooms. Ensures accurate and timely delivery of all incoming packages to appropriate departments.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education or Formal Training

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred

Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)

Current Colorado driver's license preferred

Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  • Ability to work with multiple interruptions and noises
  • Must have and utilize good judgment
  • Ability to accurately access facts/circumstances around a situation/problem
  • Promotes open communication and actively participates in positive interpersonal relationships
  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Accurate data entry; maintains current and accurate data in hospital mainframe system
  • Competent inventory control practices/procedures within surgical areas and within storeroom
  • Has no physical limitations to pushing, pulling, walking, and/or standing for long durations
  • Has excellent organizational skills and utilizes these
  • Must have good organizational skills and be able to adjust to increased surgical volume for ordering of supplies
  • Knowledge of surgical/medical supplies preferred
  • Clerical aptitude and computer programs including Microsoft suite and Meditech hospital-based programs preferred

Experience

  • Computer experience—minimum one year preferred
  • Material Management within a healthcare organization including inventory control, purchasing and knowledge of supplies utilized in surgery preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Orders and maintains reasonable levels of specified inventory supplies within the parameters set by the department management team.
  • Maintains current purchasing inventory, and receiving records on computer database.
  • Maintains special orders to be ordered in conjunction with inventory supplies to minimize the number of purchase orders.
  • Maintains database for patient chargeable supplies to insure proper labeling and pricing. Labels said supplies with labels.
  • Acts as a member of the Material Management team in supplying the hospital with supplies needed for the hospital to provide excellent care for their patients.
  • Completes inventory of storeroom supplies in patient care areas on daily basis in conjunction with other members of the warehouse team.
  • Rotates dated stock in all storeroom and patient care supply areas and checks for outdated supplies on the last day worked of every month.
  • Staff will be required to cover weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises.

  • Subject to risks inherent in working in health care facility
  • High-pressure environment with frequent interruptions, deadlines, and pending emergencies
  • Exposure to fatigue, back strain, long periods of standing, walking, multiple stimuli and noises
  • Employee is frequently required to stoop, crouch, twist, kneel, squat, and sit for possibly long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and move supplies weighing up to 60 pounds
