What you will have an opportunity to do:
Perform all duties in a professional manner and in accordance with company policies. Flexibility to work a varied schedule due to business levels and industry demand. Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Give clear and concise directions to various locations in the resort Answer guest questions using excellent customer service skills
Overall:
- Must be well groomed, with nametag on at all times while working on the property.
- Must be well-mannered, display a helpful attitude at all times, greet guests when encountered, show appreciation to the guest for being at the resort, show willingness to help guests and employees at all times.
- Must coordinate operation of outdoor services stations with other departments in the resort.
- Must be open to new training and experiences.
- Ability to operate a wide variety of computer-based systems, including reservations and point of sale systems.
- Provides information on park and resort activities and policies.
- Provide assistance in other job classifications as determined necessary by immediate superior.
Welcome Gate Activities:
- Collect the appropriate entry fee of guests entering the resort at the welcome gate.
- Must be able to appropriately handle “bank” transactions within the guidelines of the Accounting department. Completes shift reports.
- Operates reservations systems. Supports guest calls related to reservations. Make and cancels reservations, as needed.
- Must fully understand and be able to communicate resort and park policies to guests.
- Maintain the proper flow of traffic entering the resort at the welcome gate.
- Must keep an accurate record of vehicles which have passed through the welcome station.
- Clean welcome gate station, park administration building, and multipurpose building
Campground Activities:
- Register guests for campsites and ensure that guests are
- Distribute firewood and newspapers to campers.
- Deal with guest issues. Reports all problems to their immediate supervisor.
- Perform minor maintenance activities in all areas, i.e. painting, plumbing,
- Clean all park public restrooms, park administration building, and multipurpose building. Must be able to thoroughly clean boats using potentially harmful chemicals to the skin (i.e. bleach).
- Inspects property and make notations of issues within these areas.
Marina Activities: When and if needed.
- Rent slips to prospective tenants of the marina. Ensures that all documentation is complete prior to acceptance. Gives guidance to perspective slip renters.
- Rent boats to guests of the marina. Trains guests in the safe and lawful operation of boats on the lake.
- Performs the duties of cashier. Maintains appropriate paperwork. Completes shift paperwork within Resort Accounting guidelines. Must be adept at handling money and filling out the coordinating paperwork.
- Participates in inventory collection.
- Clean marina, boats, park administration building, and multipurpose building. Performs all cleaning duties as pertaining to the rental fleet
- Must possess a working knowledge of watercraft.
- Must be able to thoroughly clean boats using potentially harmful chemicals to the skin (i.e. bleach).
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Must be guest service oriented.
- Ability to interact well with others.
- Ability to use computer systems.
- Must possess or have the ability to acquire some knowledge of watercraft.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
1. To assist other departments as required.
2. Will perform additional duties as requested by the Outdoor Services Manager.
ENVIRONMENT: In and out doors setting, sun, heat and rain.
