Job Description
Facility Contract Services is a Florida based contract services company, responsible for the employment and management of personnel for municipal clients. Facility Contract Services is currently seeking dynamic and goal-driven employees for the City of Pembroke Pines Recreation & Cultural Arts Department. JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Department Director, the employee is responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks in the day-to-day operation, maintenance and patrol of the City parks and recreation facilities. The incumbent is responsible for the safety and security of parks, facilities and patrons. The incumbent will report to the Parks Supervisor. This position will be assigned to work nights, weekends and holidays.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Patrols City parks and recreation areas.
2. Engages the public and gives information concerning park facilities, park rules and regulations, and other matters of public interest.
3. Enforces applicable ordinances.
4. Ensures that park and recreation areas and facilities are secured.
5. Corrects and/or reports any conditions that involve damage, theft, vandalism or hazards in the park.
6. Checks buildings and facilities in parks for security and vandalism.
7. Prepares reports as required.
8. Performs minor maintenance and /or custodial duties when necessary.
9. Renders CPR and first aid assistance when necessary.
10. Performs additional related work as assigned and/or required.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Valid driver’s license.
Valid American Red Cross C.P.R.& AED card or equivalent or the ability to obtain one within three months of appointment.
Preferred one (1) to two (2) years of experience in park operations and maintenance work.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of the City laws and local ordinances governing park and recreational areas.
Ability to enforce rules and ordinances in a firm and courteous manner.
Ability to understand complex oral and written instructions.
Ability to prepare detailed reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and superiors.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
