Health Technology Services (HTS) a division of University Information Technology Services (UITS) has opportunities for Support technicians who will have the opportunity to gain valuable client service experience and technical knowledge that will improve their career marketability. We currently have opportunities for Multimedia Support Technicians at the IU Regional Academic Health Center.

The Indiana University Regional Academic Health Center (RAHC) is a cutting-edge medical education and training complex utilized by Indiana University Health Sciences faculty and staff, IU Health employees, and other health science related entities.

Job Summary


The RAHC is hiring part-time multimedia support technicians.

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Technology Support Specialist. Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provides support for the classrooms and conference rooms in the RAHC for classes and other events
  • Checks classroom equipment regularly to ensure operability.
  • Assists faculty and staff with AV technology, including but not limited to:
    • Web Cameras
    • Microphones and Speakers
    • Projectors
    • Blu-ray player
    • Document camera
  • Monitors room schedules and ensuring technology is operational in rooms prior to events.
  • Assists with standard systems:
  • Desktop and mobile computing device platforms (including Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and others)
  • Central systems (email, learning management systems, storage platforms, etc.)
  • Campus networking (wired and wireless connectivity)
  • Documents all client interactions for research, review, and future reference.
  • Follows up with clients until a satisfactory resolution is reached. As necessary, escalates unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisors.
  • Moves partition walls.
  • Arranges tables and chairs.
  • Cleans technology and podiums after each use.
  • Committed to providing excellent client service during every single client contact.

Qualifications


EDUCATION

Required

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Prior client service experience

SKILLS

Required

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Windows and various video conferencing technologies
  • Proven technical abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to work schedules
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Encourage and be receptive to suggestions and solutions from others

Working Conditions / Demands


Technicians must be able to move up to 25 pounds,this position requires the ability use a computer keyboard and mouse and ability to use fine motor skills.

Advertised Salary


$13 per hour

Work Hours


Required to be available to work evening and/or weekend shifts. We require a commitment to work at least 2 full semesters.

Supervisors request availability from each technician before the start of each semester (fall, spring, and summer) to create a semester schedule.

Each week's schedule is based on the semester schedule.

Schedules are set at the beginning of the semester and adjusted as needed.

Shifts are assigned based on a combination of staffing needs, consultant availability, seniority, and attendance history. RAHC technicians are required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week and may work a maximum of 29 hours per week.
