Direct Supervisor: Project Director, Workforce Programs

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for cultivating partnerships with local employers and training partners.Duties include outreach, networking, marketing, and public speaking. Utilize Labor Market Information (LMI) to help inform activities and strategies. Coordinate job retention strategies, employment verification, and data tracking on an ongoing basis. Occasionally, assisting with facilitation of groups and workshops, and support team members in direct services to participants. In conjunction with the Project Director, assure that workforce programs’ data and reporting are timely and accurate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact for employer, training, government, and community-based organization partners.
  • Act as liaison between partners and Reintegration Services staff members.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry organizations and public agencies to identify job openings and vocational training opportunities for participants that will result in certifications and job placements.
  • Partnerships should align with organization mission and placement strategies.
  • Research and stay up to date on current Labor Market Information available from the NYS Department of Labor to ensure services and strategies are focused on locally “in-demand” fields which offer a living wage and career advancement opportunities.
  • Understand aspects of programming such as; outreach, recruitment, program eligibility assessment, orientation of participants for all CCA workforce programs, funder and CCA requirements.
  • Partner with Reentry Advocacy to provide training and or advocacy to employers on the benefits of employing job seekers with a criminal history and creating awareness of fair hiring practices.
  • Coordinate and assist with implementation of job readiness/vocational training curricula as well as job retention clubs and other group activities to support job placement and retention.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure (a) training and credential starts/completions, (b) job placements and retention or re-employment of program participants and (c) that training, placement, and retention targets are met and verified.
  • With the Project Director, complete reports for all RS Programs (funded and otherwise) assuring both timeliness and accuracy.
  • Take part in committee meetings with various workforce development groups and conveners.
  • Participate in staff meetings, case review, case conferencing and program evaluations.
  • Participate in in-service and outside training, as approved by supervisor and/or as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • People impacted by the criminal legal system or formerly incarcerated are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated experience in workforce development, job development, sales, networking, and/or marketing, required.
  • BA/BS, preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy, required
  • Experience working with adults with diverse cultural backgrounds impacted by the criminal punishment system
  • Preferred; Bi-lingual (English/Spanish), a plus; Valid NYS Driver’s License, access to registered and insured vehicle; required. The Center for Community Alternatives requires any employee using their automobile on behalf of the company to carry a minimum bodily injury limits of $100,000 per person, $300,000 for each accident, and property damage limits of $100,000 for each accident.
  • Occasional travel to out of town/state conferences and meetings; required. Ability to gain clearance to OCCF; a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
