Patient Access Representative - Part Time
Job description
Department: Patient Registration, Work Hours: Varying days and shifts, rotating weekend and holidays
Provide service to our customers by creating a positive first impression. Collect and enter into the computer system necessary information to ensure accurate hospital records and to facilitate the billing process. Is responsible for the smooth, orderly flow and completion of testing for all outpatients. Responsible for combining ancillary schedules for all patients. Responsible for assisting patients with the automated check-in process- patient kiosks.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED. Excellent communication skills and a customer-friendly demeanor; Ability to efficiently use computer-based applications. Must have effective interviewing skills in order to gain necessary information from patients with the ability to answer questions. Must be quick in analyzing problems determining appropriate solutions and performing multiple tasks at once. Must be able to prioritize assignments and have excellent organizational skills.
Preferred
College degree, knowledge of ICD-9 or ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, billing and health insurance rules/processes
