Your role

  • Utilizes the computerized diet office application to guide and input patient menu selections to comply with the prescribed diet order.
  • Follows approved scripting during menu ordering and delivery. Utilizes bedside menu entry to record patient menu selections.
  • Assembles trays per therapeutic diet guidelines and the established presentation standards. Ensures all patient food deliveries and retrievals are consistent with established timeframes, per department standard; checks trays for accuracy before delivery to patient. May assist with food prep and assembly as needed.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships between Nursing and the Nutritional Services Department. Maintains a positive, friendly, and courteous demeanor.
  • Provides quality and professional customer service.
  • Ensures compliance in that work area/station is clean/orderly, and neat/well organized; wears hairnet / beard cover in production/prep areas and maintains hand hygiene standards. Understands and complies with HACCP, FDA Food Code, and in-house safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Handles inventory, supplies and equipment properly and acts to reduce waste. May be responsible for the iPad and other electronic resources.
  • Participates in department PI projects. Collects data, provides feedback for processes and areas in need of improvement, and implements recommendations.

Qualifications


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
  • Ability to communicate with customers, in person and over the phone, professionally and efficiently
  • Ability to handle customer interactions in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner
  • Ability to use common software applications and hardware (e.g., iPad, ToughBook)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets
  • Ability to effectively multi-task
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Knowledge of Nutritional Services software

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • N/A

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • May be required to obtain and maintain state specific certifications
