The Children s Hospital of New Jersey provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric services that include a pediatric intensive care unit, pediatric emergency department, Valerie Fund Children s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, and a neonatal ICU with New Jersey s only ECMO unit. The pediatric staff pharmacist works in the decentralized pharmacy satellite and provides collaborative pharmaceutical care to the Children s Hospital of New Jersey including NICU and PICU, and the emergency department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director of Radiology the Lung Navigator is directly involved in the development and enhancement processes aimed at improving clinical outcomes and is responsible for growing the lung-screening program. Lung Navigator will adhere to pulmonary medicines, thoracic surgery and radiology s approved protocols and clinical guidance to ensure lung screening program goals are met. The Lung Navigator will ensure timely coordination of care, by developing and maintaining positive working relationships with key internal and external customers (including e.g. physicians, nurses, radiology staff, social services staff, radiation oncology staff, pulmonary medicine staff, oncology staff, physician office staff, etc.). Lung Navigator will develop educational materials to teach patients about cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment options, and the importance of early detection of cancer. The Lung Navigator collaborates closely with all members of the interdisciplinary health care team to facilitate a coordinated approach to each patient's plan of care. The Navigator will work to eliminate any barriers to ensure patients receive their continuum of care and treatment at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. The Lung navigator ensures that all appointments are made, all needs are met, and that communication flows freely. Lung Navigator will participate in professional growth and development opportunities by attending various meetings, conferences and courses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of all Orientation requirements of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
