Overview

:
Provide daily support and assistance to the staff in the Payment Posting Department to ensure accurate, thorough, and prompt posting of payments and adjustments. This includes training, audits, reporting, and disciplinary actions. All new hires must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Job Highlights

:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

  • Assist the department leadership in providing directive and assistance to payment posting staff and refunds staff.
  • Provides assistance in monitoring payment posting staff.
  • Assists in staff evaluations
  • Work on special projects or report analysis as requested.
  • Assist in maintaining and working the suspense account for unidentified funds.
  • Audit the receipts received in off-site Pinnacle locations.
  • Assist in training new hires for the department and assist in on-going education of staff with regard to new procedures or processes.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results
  • Other duties, as assigned

:
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Strong skill in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Strong working knowledge of office policy and procedure
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong skill in gathering and reporting information and analyzing reports
  • General understanding of the functions of all other Pinnacle departments
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with staff, physicians and external customers
  • Must have a pleasant disposition and high tolerance level for diverse personalities
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Communicate well with the public
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma is required. An Associate’s degree in business administration or health related field is preferred.
  • Prefer experience in a health care organization. Must have worked in a Payment Posting Department for a minimum of one (1) year.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching
  • Must possess sufficient eye-hand coordination/manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment
  • Required normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports and evaluations.
  • Requires lifting papers and boxes weighing up to 35 pounds occasionally
  • Requires dexterity to type at least 50 wpm.
WORKING CONDITIONS (environment and safety):
  • Work performed in office environment
  • Involves frequent contact with professional staff and managed care organizations
  • Work may be stressful at times
  • Interaction with others is frequent and often disruptive
