Overview:
The primary role of the Payroll Administrator is to provide support and oversight for various elements of the organization’s payroll and to liaison with employees, managers, human resources and field staff regarding payroll related items and questions. This is a highly time-sensitive, deadline driven position which requires the ability to monitor workload and prioritize duties accordingly. Incumbents must have the ability to operate as a subject matter expert in all payroll and related tax matters.

Additional Position Information: Reports to: Payroll Director Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and review the process for payroll with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare supplementary payroll batch totals import report for each payroll (additional monies, short-term disability, etc.)
  • Oversee timecard preparation for non-exempt employees, ensuring approvals and sign -off are completed on a weekly basis. Resolve punch errors and discrepancies as it relates to payroll standards and procedures in E time- Time and Attendance system. Create and distribute payroll and timecard reports for supervisor’s review.
  • Review the Canadian payroll, based on global payroll procedures and established controls using ADP WFN platform.
  • Oversee the preparation of separation manual check requests that requires final checks to be processed based on state deadline.
  • Manage and oversee ADP Smart compliance multi state tax setup and attend to agency notices.
  • Analyze and responds to complex matters requiring comprehensive knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Compiles tax and payroll reports for both internal and external audit purpose; submits to Director for review.
  • Escalates to Director potential or expected processing or compliance related issues.
  • Monitor and audit internal and external systems to ensure data integrity, including data accuracy, and timely data entry.
  • Work with the payroll Director to implement process improvements to build efficient and scalable payroll policies and procedures.
  • Assist Payroll Director with implementation of new Payroll Platform, as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll records and provide ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy of multi state and local tax withholding for new hires and employment relocation setup in ADP are assigned to the correct local and state tax jurisdiction.
  • Work closely with HR, People Ops and business partners on all payroll related matters.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent amount of years’ experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience in payroll administration multi-state preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP/FPC) certification preferred.
  • Strong Data Analysis and mathematical skills for ensuring accuracy of paychecks, taxation and checking reasonableness of payroll data.
  • Attention to detail, completing assignments, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to audit reporting with an eye for identifying exceptions.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with strict confidence.
  • Cloud-based system experience required with at least 5 years Ceridian Dayforce strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel-VLOOKUP's, pivot, MS office, and word.
  • Problem-solving, time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.

  • Average salary range is $61k-$70K, open to further discussion based on geography.
