About us

OBH-Rutland Nursing Home located on the campus of Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, is a skilled nursing facility member of One Brooklyn Health System family of Hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. The facility offers short-term rehabilitation, sub-acute care, long-term care, comprehensive wound care and specialty units for ventilator dependent residents. Rutland also has dedicated Pediatric and Young Adult long-term care units.

We're looking for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with strong committment to patient care. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a mid-level health care provider, who works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team and is responsible for providing direct comprehensive care to patients and supervision of ancillary staff. The NP educates the patient, family/significant other by promoting wellness, preventing health care problems, maintaining current health status, and intervening in acute or chronic illness.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs A Comprehensive Functional Assessment Of The Patients Based On Age And History.
  • Manages Patient Care Which Includes: Performing Comprehensive Assessment, Formulating Diagnostic Planning In Accordance With Medical Protocols.
  • Prescribes Medication, Safely, Efficiently, And Effectively Using The NP License Number In Accordance With The New York State Education Law 6910
  • Participates In Patient Education For Individuals And/Or Families Related To Functional Health Status. Functional Assessment May Be Performed During A Home Visit And/Or In The Center
  • Determines The Effectiveness Of The Plan Of Care Through Documentation Of Client Care Outcomes. Reassesses And Modifies The Plan As Necessary To Achieve Medical And Health Goals

Education:

  • Master’s Degree Program In Nursing / Nurse Practitioner

Licenses, Certifications:

  • Current NYS Nurse Practitioner License required.
  • Current NYS RN License required.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty area.

Experience:

  • Minimum one (1) years nursing experience required.
  • At least one (1) year as nurse practitioner experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with EMR software preferred. Ability to fully utilize KJMC's electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
