About the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics
Our 10 Federally Qualified Health Centers across the county serve adults and children with or without insurance and regardless of ability to pay. We also operate three mobile clinics that provide medical services for the homeless and the underserved. In 2022, we served 39,000 unique adult and pediatric patients who received high-quality comprehensive health services including medical, dental, behavioral health, psychiatric care, women’s health, pharmacy services, outpatient substance use disorder treatment, and community resource programs.
Responsibilities:- The position involves providing full scope of pediatric primary care services including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventative care and health maintenance to a complex pediatric population in HCD Primary Care Clinics.
- Obtains health history and perform physical examinations; diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment; prescribe medication in accordance with Florida statute and professional practice guidelines.
- Performs minor surgical procedures; arrange referral for patients required services notoffered a HCD Primary Care Clinics; review incoming reports, e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG, hospital and specialties reports, and etc.) sign, date and follow-up in a timely manner.
- Participates in utilization review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical meetings; assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
- Assists in outside medical public relations functions.
- Adheres to UDS productivity standards and meet the minimum requirement.
- Maintains accurate and complete medical records, completes proper coding requirements and different forms as required. Participates in quality assurance and related activities.
- Provides oversight of mid-level providers; maintain a close liaison with the PCP of Hospital Services for coordinating the transition of care from Clinic to hospital and back to Clinic.
- Participates in after-hours “on-call” patient phone calls coverage on rotating basis.
- Identifies and evaluates problems, complaints, and symptoms as reported and presented by patients, by patient families, or by staff about the patients.
- Plans and conducts health education for patients, families and facility staff related to the patient’s medical condition, treatment, or prognosis.
- Participates in the facility’s quality assurance/quality monitoring program.
- Participates in the patients’ plan of care, interdisciplinary team meetings, committee meetings and rehabilitation meetings when necessary.
- Discusses findings as needed with attending physician, consulting staff, and medical service providers.
- Reviews the results of tests and procedures, making notations and changes in patients’ plans or orders according to the protocols established mutually between the ARNP and the supervising physician.
- Performs mental status exams.
- Continually monitors the health care services provided and changes orders as necessary to meet the individual patient needs according to protocols.
- Interacts with patients’ family members, as needed.
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.
Additionally, incumbents are required to perform emergency response and management duties for Palm Beach County as required.

Pediatrician Doctor of Medicine or related degree required.
Experience:
Previous experience in a rural setting and in a public sponsored hospital is preferred. Bilingual/Trilingual in
Creole is a plus
Health Care District Primary Care Clinics providers must be licensed and registered as a physician in the State
of Florida, be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatric medicine. Current ACLS or BLS certification required.
Licensure:
Unrestricted license from the Florida Medical Board.
Registrations:
Drug Enforcement Agency Controlled Substance Registration including schedules: 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5.
Training:
Demonstrates current knowledge of pediatric medicine ongoing professional development.
