EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 65,000 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Peer Recovery Coach to work full time for its Collaborative Legal Engagement and Addiction Response (CLEAR) program.
The Peer Recovery Coach position is a non-exempt position paying $23-27.50 per hour at 35 hours per week. Available shifts include: 4PM-12AM or 6PM-2AM with varied days including weekends. The office is located in Brooklyn, NY and the role reports to the Program Director.

Primary Purpose of Job:
The Peer Recovery Coach for the Brooklyn Collaborative Legal Engagement and Addiction Response (CLEAR) program is responsible for providing on-going culturally responsive and appropriate support for participants referred to the program by fostering positive relationships and connecting them to services in the community.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Respond to precincts throughout Brooklyn to talk to prospective participants about the program and its benefits.
- Identify and facilitate emergency resources for participants.
- Encourage participants to visit with the program Case Manager and follow up with referrals to community-based support resources and other ancillary services.
- Meet with clients on an on-going, as needed basis on and off site and be available via email and cell phone for support, advice, and guidance.
- Provide a Naloxone kit and training to participants if needed.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Participate in regularly scheduled on-going trainings and supervision.
- Maintain client charts and notes, update after each interaction with client and have available for inspection by supervision at any time.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- High School diploma or educational equivalent required.
- Certified Peer Recovery Coach Certification (CRPA) or training preferred.
- OASAS/OMH Peer Specialist Certification or peer specialist training such as Howie the Harp Peer Advocacy and Training Center Peer Specialist Program preferred.
- Must have good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work cooperatively with multiple agencies.
- Knowledge of target population and borough resources.
- Willing to travel throughout Brooklyn.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
