Penny Ice Creamery Shift Leader
Job description
The Penny Ice Creamery is the only ice cream shop in Santa Cruz that makes ice cream completely from scratch, in house, using local and organic ingredients! We make unique flavors like Strawberry Pink Peppercorn, Candied Buddha's Hand, Honey Lavender, and Earl of Grey. We also make classic flavors like Cookies n' Cream, Fresh Mint Chip, Tahitian Vanilla Bean, and Dark Chocolate Sorbet!
As a Shift Leader, you will create an excellent customer experience by scooping ice cream, making special items like ice cream sundaes and milkshakes, making tea and espresso drinks (proudly serving Verve Coffee), and maintaining the shop. You will also become an expert in making fresh sugar cones and marshmallow fluff!
In addition to providing exceptional service, you will be a leader and role model for the staff. During your shift, you will be responsible for maintaining the flow of business and the presentation of the shop, and holding everyone to our high standards of service and product quality.
Our four Penny Ice Creamery locations in Santa Cruz County include:
Downtown Santa Cruz , Pleasure Point, Aptos Village, and Scotts Valley .
Requirements
Skills include critical thinking, problem-solving, prioritization, and leadership. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in leadership.
- Ability to work autonomously, and as a team player and leader.
- Ability to effectively communicate and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in attention to detail and follow-through.
- Available to work on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
- Able to work alone/ unsupervised.
- Available to work at least 20 hours a week on a reliable basis.
