POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for overseeing personnel and daily operations of the People and Culture Department, with emphasis on Talent Acquisition and Development, General HR Operations, HR Infrastructure, Payroll, Culture and Safety. Must have ability to work in a fast-paced problem-solving environment with discretion and trusted business ethics, flexibility. The People and Culture Manager is also responsible for performance of specific activities such as?the Trainee and Emerging Leaders Program and developing career paths for our associates.

MANAGER REPOSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, Maintain and Implement a 3-Year People and Culture Strategy with key metrics and review Quarterly with the President
  • Set up relationships at trade schools, community colleges and other local universities
  • Establish presence in the community representing company (Job Fairs, events, etc.).
  • Further develop the Trainee and Emerging Leaders program
  • Monitor manpower needs by working closely with managers, supervisors and Executive team
  • Lead efforts in Training & Development with Executive Team; make training recommendations, implement training programs as needed
  • Advise managers on company policy and review personnel files with management to assist in decision making with regards to associate disciplinary action, rehire eligibility and promotional opportunities with regards to associate recognition, performance and discipline practices
  • Prepare and coordinate documentation for Associate participation on Company 401K plan
  • Represent company at unemployment hearings, and other legal proceedings, and recommend appeals when necessary
  • Improve our unemployment insurance rate and reduce voluntary turnover, while raising our associates? job satisfaction
  • Prepare reports for Bureau of Census, EEOC, DOL & other Government agencies as required
  • Complete the annual reporting requirements for EEO-1 and Vets-100
  • Maintain unemployment insurance system (responding to inquiries from unemployment offices regarding former associates and the terms of their separation)
  • Maintain The Company Handbook, Facilitate associate communication
  • Oversee, manage and provide Back-up for the People and Culture Associates which includes, but are not limited to these responsibilities, ?
    • Payroll on Bi-Weekly schedule
    • New hire orientations, process employment changes, terminations, as well verifications of employment and respond to requests for associate information from outside agencies, i.e. IRS, Garnishments etc.
    • Compliance with applicable Federal & State employment laws
    • Maintain applicant filing system and records in accordance with Affirmative Action Programs
    • Coordinate with Associates, Insurance provider and Safety Personnel on all Workers Compensation Claims, including FMLA issues
    • Coordinate with Associates, Managers, and Insurance Companies regarding Vehicle and Property incidents
    • Maintain records to prepare the annual OSHA 300 reports
    • Maintain HR Online Database updated at all times (job descriptions, JSA?s, forms, insurance information, etc.).
    • Assist in maintaining and update Benefits enrollments and changes on the various benefits provider?s databases
    • Associate development and performance reviews
    • The Safety Manual & Fleet Safety Manual as needed
    • Answer associate and manager inquiries regarding employment policies and procedures
  • Assist Controller with special projects and other duties may be assigned
  • Assist with end of year reporting and auditing
  • Benefits Administration: compliance reporting, compliance meetings, decision committee for benefits carried by Northeastern, preparing open enrollment materials (this is revolving throughout the entire year).
