Job description
Summary: The Pest Control Technician is responsible for driving sales and profit by providing outstanding customer service and ensuring compliance of all policies, procedures and legal requirements for the business. The Technician applies or releases chemical solutions or toxic gases and sets traps to kill or remove pests and vermin that infest buildings and surrounding areas. Duties and Responsibilities: Follow and adhere to all BPP policies and procedures and ensure effective and efficient use of materials, equipment and human resources that include but are not limited to:
- Serve customers with a positive attitude, enthusiasm and professionalism
- Present options on every call and assist customers in making the best decision for their home or business
- Refuse to compromise company or individual integrity by performing unnecessary services

- Complete required forms, reports and approval processes using the provided tablets, computers, phone systems and software
- Maintain, inspect and clean assigned vehicle and maintain and secure truck stock to promote time and material efficiency and present a professional image to the public
- Review, negotiate and manage new and existing client contracts
- Record work activities performed
- Inspect premises to identify infestation source and extent of damage to property, wall, or roof porosity and access to infested locations
- Recommend treatment and prevention methods for pest problems to clients
- Spray or dust chemical solutions, powders, or gases into rooms, onto clothing, furnishings, or wood, or over marshlands, ditches, or catch basins
- Clean work site after completion of job
- Safely drive and maintain truck equipped with power spraying equipment
- Measure area dimensions requiring treatment, calculate fumigant requirements, and estimate cost for services
- Study preliminary reports or diagrams of infested area and determine treatment type required to eliminate and prevent the recurrence of infestation
- Direct or assist other workers in treatment or extermination processes to eliminate or control rodents and insects
- Post warning signs and lock building doors to secure area to be fumigated
- Set mechanical traps or place poisonous paste or bait in sewers, burrows, or ditches
- Cut or bore openings in building or surrounding concrete, access infested areas, insert nozzle, and inject pesticide to impregnate ground
- Clean and remove blockages from infested areas to facilitate spraying procedures and provide drainage, using brooms, mops, shovels, or rakes.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two years of college or trade school or equivalent experience preferred
- Possess a minimum of three (3) years of verifiable pest control experience
- Possess a clean driving record
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of pest control and related operations.
- Pesticide Applicator License through the Texas Department of Agriculture
- Office and field service environment
- Exposure to smells and sounds associated with pest control services
- Exposure to dust and other debris.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs and work on roof tops of buildings
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance and peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
