SUMMARY

The Philanthropic Giving Manager plays a critical support role within the Major Gifts team at the National Office to enable methodical donor cultivation, and achievement of revenue goals to advance the organizational mission.

Specifically, the Manager works closely with the Vice President, Development to support and managed various revenue streams such as planned gifts, the workplace giving program and 3rd party fundraisers. This job is perfect for someone who is highly organized and who enjoys behind-the-scenes work in support of a great cause. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day functions to support received planned gifts ($800K+) and workplace giving ($300k+) and Third-Party fundraisers ($10,000+) - 30%
  • Lead workplace giving program and serve as primary contact for CHC-related fundraising - 20%
  • Lead third-party fundraising program and serve as primary contact with business partners – 20%
  • Lead planned giving/legacy gifts and serve as primary contact with donors, attorneys, and executors – 20%
  • Acquire and maintain a sound understanding of the Foundation’s associated programs, campaigns, events, and fundraising/marketing themes and priorities. - 10%

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the processing and pipeline of planned/legacy gifts
  • Prepare and update records, acknowledgment, and other correspondence to FreeWill donors
  • Responsible for agreement process, marketing, and strategies for third-party fundraiser business partners
  • Serve as primary contact for CHC/workplace giving-related fundraising (continue current efforts, research ways, and annual applications to broaden workplace giving) for national and field offices.
  • Attend virtual and in-person charity fairs for workplace giving.
  • Maintain current training offerings through the CHC relationship.
  • Research new third-party partner prospects, strategize engagement, and assist in marketing opportunities.
  • Liaise with the Data team to ensure accurate fundraising dashboards.
  • Support sponsor activation and assist in the network event monitoring of key signature events.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, communications, business administration, or relevant field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years experience as a fundraiser.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, and is comfortable learning new technical systems, as needed. Recent Salesforce CRM experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of non-government grant funding and fundraising.
  • Understanding fundraising in a non-profit affiliate model is preferred.

  • Data-driven with acute attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills, necessary
  • Knowledge of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and techniques.
  • Demonstrated record of success in generating significant commitments from institutional funding partners.
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of methods, practices, and procedures for obtaining information about the giving programs of foundations.
  • Self-motivation and discipline to regularly set and achieve work goals.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills with large groups as well as with individuals are essential.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint is preferred.
  • Experience working in CRMs to implement best practices with data tracking and management.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
  • Ability to initiate and build relationships with prospective institutional donors.
  • Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for a diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Must possess a high level of independence in accomplishing the responsibilities of the position.
  • Must be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

TRAVEL, WORK ENVIRONMENT, AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM eastern, preferred.
  • This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses digital communication mediums.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and will require staring at a computer screen and/or documents for extended periods of time.
  • Travel is not expected but may occasionally be required for events (or for essential office visits, while under the COVID operations policy).
  • This position is expected to regularly attend Foundation meetings and training.
