SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer the Physician Assistant provides primary medical care services for individuals and families on a continuing basis regardless of age, race, or sex, under general supervision of and in collaboration with a Physician.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, health maintenance.
Elicits and records information about patient’s medical history.
Administers or prescribes treatments and medications.
May perform surgical office procedure.
Refers patients to Physician or medical specialist for consults services when necessary for patient’s wellbeing.
Promotes health and advises patients of diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.
Additional clinical or administrative duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer or Chief Executive Officer to promote the success and welfare of the organization.
Maintains a courteous, helpful and conscientious attitude in dealing with co-workers and patients and their families ensuring professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Regular and prompt attendance at work.
All other duties assigned.

EDUCATION, LICENSING, CERTIFICATES AND/OR EXPERIENCE
P.A.-C Satisfactory completion of primary care Physician Assistant program with Bachelors or Master’s Degree. Current State of Michigan Physician Assistant License, current DEA License, and a current Controlled Substance License. Board certification. Basic Life Support.
