Job description

eligibility

• enthusiastic, knowledgeable, patient, engaging, versatile, and passionate piano teacher for beginning and intermediate students ages 5 and older
• music degree preferred, but not required; must demonstrate piano proficiency by playing either during interview or in pre-recorded video (audio alone will not be accepted); may be asked to sight-read intermediate repertoire
• prior educational experience or any experience with children is preferred, but not required; must enjoy working with all ages (especially children) and learning styles

lesson types

• in-person and virtual
• private: one student, 30 minutes
• semiprivate: two students, 30 minutes, can be taught together or separately
• group: three students, 30 minutes, can be taught together or separately

curriculum

• mainly Alfred's Basic Piano Library
• other repertoire accepted if beneficial to students’ progress
• music theory
• technical exercises
• ear training
• annual video performances
