Plant Janitorial Custodian

The Janitorial Custodian role at Gilman Brothers has responsibility for routine office cleaning and janitorial services throughout our manufacturing areas and office facilities. The Gilman Brothers

The Janitorial Custodian maintains the building floor surfaces including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and spot cleaning; empties trash receptacles; services, cleans, sanitizes, and supplies restrooms; and performs other duties as assigned to ensure the building and grounds are in a clean orderly and functional condition. Some outdoor clean up may be required, as well as production and warehouse areas.

The Janitorial Custodian must carefully prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications, monitor and report facility issues requiring repairs, and ensure supplies are available for each shift.

1 – 3 years Prior work experience in a janitorial custodian role and familiarity with cleaning best practices is desired to promote safety, quality and housekeeping in all areas of the facility. Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize work for efficiencies without minimizing work results.

Qualifications:

• Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals documents generally in English.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
• Must be able to be on your feet for the duration of the shift.
• Be able to work Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work.
• Be able to lift 30+ pounds.
• Must be able to reach overhead, and extend arms to clean various surfaces.
• Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
• Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel.
• May be required to climb ladders to perform cleaning activities.

Education and Requirements:

• High School Degree or Equivalent.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Required Hours Work Schedule:

Hours per Week: Full Time 40 hours. Typical work schedule: 6:00am - 2:30pm

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour. Sign on Bonus eligible up to $2500 paid over six months.
