Job Summary
IA Construction has an opening for an Asphalt Plant Superintendent to oversee the daily operations of our Lafayette HMA plant.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily operations of HMA plant
- Responsible for supervision of plant employees
- Order all materials needed for production
- Inventory control of all materials
- Plant maintenance including ordering parts and making necessary repairs in a timely and safe manner
- Approve invoices in OnBase
- Responsible for safety at the facility
- Participate in daily safety huddles
- Train new hires
- Report inventories daily
- Report employee time daily
- Communicate with paving foreman, plant manager, quality control manager, and office as necessary
- Maintain good housekeeping at the facility
- Report energy usage daily
- Cross train employees
- Work Closely with QC to ensure quality products
- Some clerical duties as required
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Skills
- Computer, fax, printer, and copier experience
- Ability to communicate with employees, peers, and management
- Ability to lead and direct
- Safety oriented
- Mechanical and Maintenance skills
- Asphalt plant experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit for periods of time
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to work various shifts
- Ability to climb steps
- Ability to lift / carry objects
