WHAT WE NEED

At Franciscan, our Administrative Fellows participate in a one-year program, which provides individuals with practical experience through direct exposure to, and active participation in, a variety of administrative activities in preparation for leadership opportunities. They will gain experience in operational planning, hospital and clinical operations, and leadership experience. They participate in individualized mentoring and professional development opportunities from a wide array of administrators and physicians, developing their diverse and individual strengths for which they were hired.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), or an equivalent program from an accredited program prior to starting the Fellowship. The preferred candidate is an active practicing Catholic who aspires to serve in an executive leadership position within the Franciscan ministry or another Catholic healthcare system.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build effective healthcare management skills and the ability to work with administrative leaders, as well as physician and clinical leaders.

  • Develop awareness and understanding of Franciscan organizational structure and the interrelation between departments and personnel as well as exhibit an understanding of healthcare administration and health industry trends.

  • Establish a performance record through project work and departmental staff responsibilities.

  • Lead projects or assignments that develop analytical, leadership, finance, and Healthcare operations skills

  • Participate in rotations through several key areas of the organization depending on requirements of the organization as well as the individual's capabilities, interests, and need for development, allowing individuals to gain a full range of experience and exposure to areas of healthcare.

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

  • Act as a self-starter and demonstrate a willingness to take on new and challenging leadership roles, as well as non-leadership projects

  • Demonstrate knowledge of financial and business management principles

  • Apply problem-solving skills to analyze information and use logic to address issues and problems

  • Ability to see the bigger picture using a strategic thought process

  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to organizational needs and opportunities
