Post-Harvest Technician - Production (MA)
Job Description
The Post-Harvest Associate will be responsible for ensuring all essential functions regarding the post-harvest process are executed and documented during operations in a state-of-the-art cultivation facility. The associate will assist in harvesting, processing, and drying material. This position reports directly to the Post-Harvest Manager or Post-Harvest Lead depending on scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for cutting, weighing, logging, and processing any harvested flowering plants during the post-harvest process
- Operate post-harvest equipment to assist in the processing of material
- Sort material based on size, quality, and projected end use
- Monitor and screen for flower quality during post-harvest to ensure internal standards are maintained
- Ensure that the batches of flower are free of any contamination during the post-harvest process
- Communicate effectively with all post-harvest and flowering staff
- Support the Flower Team with preparing for harvests in the bays
- Rotate product to allow for even and consistent drying
- Adhere to strict standards for sanitation throughout the entire post-harvest process
- Perform and maintain the sanitation of all post-harvest tools, workspaces, and rooms used during the post-harvesting process
- Follow and execute the company’s standard operating procedures
- Assist with ongoing maintenance and sanitation of all post-harvest equipment
Requirements
- 1 year of commercial post-harvest or cultivation experience preferred
- Associate degree or above in manufacturing or related field a plus
- Ability to multi-task with excellent follow through skills
- Strong attention to detail
- High-energy, enthusiasm and the willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
- Thorough knowledge of all Temescal Wellness cultivation protocols, policies and procedures
- Awareness of the Harvest Schedule
- Willingness to teach/train production associates who need assistance
- Have a trained manufacturer's eye. Ex. When procedures aren’t being executed properly, call attention
- Ability to work with uniformity
- Effective data entry skills
- Skilled in general computer operating systems and applications, including G Suite and METRC
- Experience using automated processing equipment
- Excellent time management skills, attendance and punctuality
- Ability to collaborate with the other departments effectively
- Thrives in a team environment
- Good conflict resolution abilities to maintain a positive team environment
- Ability to problem-solve and take initiative
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent listening and interpretation skills
- Familiarity with Massachusetts policy and regulation governing recreational/medical cannabis production
- Proficient at all tasks in relation to post-harvest
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment
- Ability to visually examine the work environment to identify potential safety/OSHA violations
- At least 21 years of age
- No felony or drug related felony
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Ability to work in high temperatures and humidity ranges found in all cultivation areas
- Ability to bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds
- Ability to stand on hard surface for extended periods
- Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, cutting and fine manipulation

Work Hours:
The Post-Harvest Associate role is a full-time position. Employees will be expected to arrive for their shift starting at 7:30 am and fulfill their duties by the end of the work day at 4:00 pm. On occasion, when the workload demands, hours of operation can and will extend as needed. Post-harvest is a 7 day-a-week operation and each employee’s schedule will be determined by the Post-Harvest Manager.
