    Connect is an Information Technology Center serving public, private, and community schools throughout Northeast Ohio.
    We are seeking a candidate to fulfill a PowerSchool Support Specialist on our Student Support Team.

    Open Position: PowerSchool Support Specialist Student Services
    Position Start Date: As soon as possible

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Associates Degree in Information Technology or related skills substantiated by training and/or
    work experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology is preferred.
    • Current OAEP Certified EMIS Professional Certification or OAEP Master Certified EMIS
    • Professional Certification is desirable.
    • Embodies high ethical standards and integrity. Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct.
    • Complies with drug-free workplace rules and association policies/procedures.
    • Experience with current Student Information Systems, scheduling, grade reporting, and State/Federal reporting is beneficial.
    • Group presentation and customer training experience is desired.
    • Help desk system support experience is desired.
    • Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team.
    • Commitment to keep current with work skills essential to the objectives of the position.
    • Proficient in the use of computer hardware/software associated with the assignment.
    • Ability to conceptualize, evaluate, prioritize and solve complex problems independently.
    • Ability to interact comfortably and confidently with the public.
    • Consistently dependable and flexible. Open to performing new responsibilities.
    • Proficient in office protocols, data entry, spelling, proofreading and the correct use of grammar.
    • Record maintenance skills. Ability to accurately compute and record mathematical data.
    • Energetic self-starter. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Thorough, gives careful attention to details and effective customer-service.
    • Availability to be “on-call” for periodic tasks outside of normal working hours.
    Essential Functions:
    • Advances the association’s professional image. Promotes Connect as a premier service provider of Student Records Management System services to organizations.
    • Complies with Connect policies/procedures. Maintains open/effective communications. Provides guidance and uses problem-solving techniques to resolve questions/concerns tactfully.
    • Promotes a safe, efficient and effective work/learning environment.
    • Trains member districts in the use and operation of all components of the student software packages and state and federal reporting, including, but not limited to EMIS. Provides support services that ensure successful use of all student applications.
    • Investigates user complaints and suggestions. Makes site visits when appropriate. Work to implement acceptable solutions.
    • Develops training materials and supplemental documentation.
    • Represents Connect on state and national committees and projects including, but not limited to EMIS. Helps these projects and committees meeting their objectives.
    • Serves on committees as directed. Helps participants meet committee objectives.
    • Thoroughly tests application patches and releases. Reports results to the appropriate entity.
    • Trains organization personnel in procedures required to implement new or modified software.
    • Responds to user questions/concerns. Troubleshoots programs to verify problems prior to reporting software issues to the appropriate entity. Provides support to rectify problems.
    • Keeps current with state/federal reporting developments including, but not limited to EMIS changes. Attends in-service trainings, workshops and conferences. Works with users to develop forms, procedures and timetables for new application implementations.
    • Promotes and utilizes the help desk to manage customer requests.
    • Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information. Actively protects the security of the data maintained by Connect.
    • Assists with unexpected/urgent situations as needed.
    • Participates in staff meetings and in-service training as directed.
    • Supports workplace initiatives that enhance personal productivity and advance association goals.
    • Takes precautions to ensure safety. Works with supervisors to manage or eliminate risk factors.
    • Strives to develop rapport and serve as a positive role model for others.
    • Meet the CEU/staff development requirements per Ohio Administrative Code and legislative requirements.
    • Sets a professional image for Connect.
    • Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
