Job Summary
The Patient Coordinator is reponsible for any and all of the following functions related to the patient visit: tracking, documenting and obtaining insurance verification, benefits, authorization and/or referrals, eFax and records, abstracting charts and CalOptima billing.
Pay Range
Minimum $18.60 Midpoint $24.65 Maximum $30.69
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
  • Required: Minimum three (3) months of experience in an office or medical practice setting including clerical or front office experience which may include handling insurance verifications, authorizations and eFax/records.
  • Preferred: One (1) to two (2) years administrative or clerical experience in the medical field. Experience with medical authorization process and payors.
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
Training
  • Required: None required.

  • Preferred: Bilingual - Spanish/English.
Licensure
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS).
Work Environments - Functional Demand:
Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
