General Description:

Hampton/Williamsburg Area, Newport News and Suffolk Area - Multiple Contract Positions

This is a part-time contract position with Bloom Consulting, working on teaching students during the school day. This position has up to part-time availability (15 hours), but more hours can be added as more schools are accepted into the program. This is perfect for grad students, retired teachers, counselors, or social workers. This is also a great position for someone who wants flexibility and unique working hours.

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Pre-ETS, this contract position will provide Pre-Employment Training Services (Pre-ETS) teaching and instruction to students ages 14-22 with disabilities as a part of a state-funded contract. Due to the nature of the position and its flexibility, a great deal of independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize the diversified workload, which includes individual and group instruction and teaching, completion of basic state-required forms, infrequent meetings, curriculum planning, and parent and student interaction. Teaching hours will be in person at high schools in the area, but prep and paperwork hours can be done remotely. This position is with Bloom Consulting and NOT a school district.

Essential Functions/Duties:

• The primary function of the position is to deliver Pre-Employment Training Services (Pre-ETS) teaching and instruction to students ages 14-22 with disabilities as a part of a state-funded contract.
• Providing individual and small group instruction (3-6) to students with disabilities.
• Completing basic state-required forms promptly.
• Using and updating electronic and paper-based client data systems.
• Working independently and within a team in meetings and while doing curriculum planning, transportation, and social events.
• Interacting with parents and students in a professional, educational environment.
• Using cloud-based technology on PCs, Tablets, and Mobile Devices.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree
• One year of experience teaching in public or private schools and/or providing instruction to individuals with disabilities
