Job description
The Preschool Teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.
Your Role as a Preschool Teacher: Instruction and Assessment:
· Conduct his or her classroom in a manner that meets the objectives of the school and follows its curriculum.
· Plan broadly through the use of trimester plans and objectives, and more currently through the use of a lesson plan book.
· Plan lessons and activities that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his/her best work.
· Utilize valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the school's philosophy.
· Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.
· Manage day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks, lunch time, and rest time for children.
· Assess children and make notes of their progress and development.
· Ensure that all children are supervised at all times.
· Plan through approved channels the balanced classroom use of field trips, guest speakers, and other media.
· Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher.
· Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.
Your Role as a Classroom Teacher: Classroom Management:
· Conduct his or her classroom in a manner that does not interfere with any other classroom.
· Be responsible for the supervision of children.
· Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises for a good learning environment.
· Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.
· Assist in emergency preparedness drills (earthquake, fire, suspicious person).
· Communicate with parents about upcoming events, progress of their child, and any issues that happened, like behavior problems or injuries.
· Notify Preschool Director or Principal of facilities or equipment which are unsafe or need repair.
· Notify Preschool Director of any injuries or incidents involving the children or parents.
· Assist in daily minor custodial duties in the classroom: cleaning toys, wiping down surfaces, and sweeping the floors.
Roles and responsibilities
· Work as a Christian preschool teacher and child care worker for children ages 2 and a half to 5 years old.
· Consistently and correctly reflect to every child through word and action the love and forgiveness that was first demonstrated to you by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
· Build each child’s self-esteem through positive guidance and nurturing.
· Help children control behavior using a Christ-centered, positive, consistent approach.
· To view the Reformation Preschool and Shepherd’s Care program in the following manner:
o As an integral part of Reformation’s ministry to the children and their families.
o As an extension of Reformation’s grade school, thereby supporting the purpose and aims of the school as established by the Board of Day School.
· Report to the Preschool Director, Assistant/Acting Director, or the Principal in her absence.
· To work primarily in rooms 3, 7, or 8 and outdoors in the playground areas.
· about incidents involving child’s behavior, injuries, or other problems.
· Provide a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool program in accordance with:
o Reformation’s Preschool Handbook
o California Department of Social Services, California Coe of Regulations, and Title 22 (division 12).
o Reformation’s Preschool curriculum, policies, and procedures.
o The Preschool Director’s guidance and supervision.
· To assist in emergency preparedness drills (earthquake, fire, suspicious person).
· To immediately notify the Preschool Director or Principal of indications of child abuse to a child.
· To not engage in physical punishment/discipline of any child.
· To be punctual and notify the Preschool Director in advance if you will be absent and call if you are ill.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
