Holman has a great opportunity for a Press Brake Operator to join our team in Huntington, Indiana!

2nd shift is Monday – Friday from 2pm – 10:30pm.

We provide training for approximately the first 6 weeks on the job. Training shift is Monday – Friday from 5:30am to 2:00pm. Upon successful completion of training, you will be assigned to our 2nd shift.

Operation of various machines as assigned by supervisor, machinery may include brake press, shear, drill press, saw and other metal working machinery. Set up and operate machines to cut, bend, form, notch, punch, or straighten metal sheets and plates, as specified by work order, blueprints, drawing, templates, or layout.

What will you do?

  • Under general supervision, set up, adjust, and operate a variety of machine tools which may include brake press, shear, drill press, saw and other metal working machinery.
  • Perform varying levels of shop mathematics associated with machining operations, and perform inspection procedures to verify work.
  • Grinding and metal preparation.
  • Responsible for verifying all line items have been completed on the work order.
  • Possess knowledge of assembly process to limit scrap materials.
  • Possess an understanding and exercise extreme care during the operation and movement of large parts while using the company lifting systems.
  • Ability to think on your own and request assistance when needed.
  • Must comply with the company’s safety policies and clean initiative standards.
What are we looking for?

  • 2 – 3 years of previous related machining experience (press brake, saw, machining center, tube bender, etc.)
  • Ability to use calipers
  • Ability to use brake press, punch press, NC or CNC equipment
  • Intermediate to advanced levels of knowledge working with metal working machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (including blueprint reading).
  • Understand the welding properties and perform critical welding, soldering, and cutting operations on ferrous and nonferrous metals.
  • Properly complete both vertical and horizontal welding operations for strengthening purposes.
  • Able to perform quality, critical welds and pass the critical welding tests on a continuous basis.
  • Able to mig weld and flux core weld clean – horizontal, downhill and overhead passes.
  • Able to use a cutting torch, plasma cutter and electrical / power tools correctly.
  • Must have adequate tools to complete assigned duties.
