Job Description:
Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:

  • The US Commercial Finance organization has responsibility for delivering annual financial plan sales and margin.
  • The Pricing and Planning Department supports these sales/margin objectives by developing pricing strategy for all major customer groups, and creating and managing contract programs, consistent with overall pricing strategies, that insure goal achievement while maximizing profitability and assuring customer satisfaction.

Major Duties:

  • Responsible for administering the timely and accurate processing of chargebacks related to discount contracts with indirect sales through wholesalers. The incumbent will have responsibilities for:
  • Providing analytical support and administer chargebacks with large wholesalers and distributors as determined by manager based on current volumes and complexity of the customer.
  • Timely resolution of disputes between Client and Wholesalers and Distributors related to chargebacks.
  • Work with Chargeback Team to develop knowledge of the following key functions: membership maintenance (this includes GPO, 340B, Specialty, etc.), Contract Management, Class of Trade usage, System skills (including Model N, SAP, Receivables Management reports and spreadsheets).
  • Responsible for return processing performing research, analysis on past purchases, assign a return credit price.
  • Administer the daily report of incoming non-authorized returns. Research and assign return credit price in SAP.
  • Timely processing and accurate processing of high volume of work
  • Work with the Customer Service organization and Third-Party Return vendor providing support as needed

Major Responsibilities:
Chargebacks:

  • Administer wholesaler chargebacks, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • All original chargebacks should be processed within 5 business days of receipt.
  • All chargeback disputes should be processed within 14 days and be maintained below $75M on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile all chargeback disputes with customer.
  • Interface with National Trade Executives and Receivables Management regarding relevant chargeback issues.
  • Respond to wholesaler requests for membership and pricing verification.
  • Develop working relationship with key wholesaler contacts.
  • Build an effective network of key contacts with Government Analyst, Receivables Management, Customer Registry, Customer Service and Finance.
  • Maintain wholesaler information (customer numbers/locations) within Model N.
  • Work with Demand Planning during quarter end processing and manage overall chargeback activities.
  • Support Customer Service pricing queue activities and potential pricing inquiries.
  • Maintain documentation of key processes.
  • Conducting monitoring activities to insure OEC compliance.

Returns:

  • Run daily KPI report for inbound non authorized returns
  • Validate customer information in report
  • Review customer historical purchases for invoice price of NDC returned
  • Manage high volume of work while keeping high accuracy rate
  • Collaborate with Customer Service organization

Comments:

  • The associate pricing analyst will have grown through experience in his/her ability to apply his/her knowledge of financial and business theory and practice. He/she will interact with multiple levels of management, including Business Unit Directors, National Trade Executives and Field Sales Managers, Customer Service, Customer Registry, Receivables Management, IM & T and Corporate System Group. The analyst is expected to somewhat independently accomplish financial or operational analysis of projects under general supervision and technical guidance from their manager. He/she is expected to begin identifying opportunities for productivity/process/profit improvements.

Accountability / Scope:
Problem Solving

  • Incumbent must be able to apply sound judgment to the analysis of Chargeback and Return Operations. Under general supervision, Individual must have sound financial and computer skills with a good business sense in order to make recommendations based on analysis of performance relative to historical achievement and based on a developing knowledge of the position.
  • Position requires a high degree of interpersonal skills to work with customers and with related departments and support functions for accomplishment of mutually shared goals.

Accountability:

  • The incumbent is accountable for functions that have a direct impact on chargeback transactions in excess of $6B annually.

Scope of Authority:

  • The associate pricing analyst will have a good understanding and knowledge of financial and business theory and practice. The analyst is expected to accomplish independent financial analysis of projects with general supervision and technical guidance from their manager.
  • He/she is expected to begin identifying opportunities for profit improvement and maximizing return on investment. The analyst must be able to act independently and demonstrate sound business judgment within the scope of defined guidelines.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree: B.A./B.S. or equivalent experience required
  • Requires a strong balance of interpersonal/conceptual skills resulting from education/experience. Must be able to evaluate the risk/benefit involved in dealing with major accounts.
