The Corporate Portfolio Management Department (CPM), under the Vice President, Industries, is responsible for (i) providing a corporate and strategic level view of IFC's investment portfolio, including granular data and analytics of portfolio trends; (ii) providing thought leadership on how IFC can create a portfolio that balances profitability, risk and development impact; (iii) systematically capturing lessons of experience and ensuring they are incorporated into IFC's strategy and new investments, with the goal of improving IFC’s performance; (iv) generating repeat investments and (v) managing the LIBOR transition process.
CPM is seeking an entrepreneurial professional to lead its Systems and Data team. The unit’s mission is to support IFC portfolio and business units leverage the data from IFC’s portfolio and lead the design and development of portfolio systems. The team is responsible for providing analytics and tools to support management decisions as well as reporting for the Board, IFC Senior Management and investment staff. The position requires close communication and interaction with staff and management at all levels, especially with Industry teams and the Corporate IT Department.
The position will report to the CPM Director and will be part of the CPM leadership team.
Manage a team of 8 members- Work closely with Business teams and IT to design, build, and maintain IFC's systems related to portfolio management
- Replace and improve existing data warehouse and address current gaps
- Develop tools to provide self-service access to information for end-users
- Lead the development of training and skills of operations staff on portfolio fundamentals
- Develop a technology-driven process for analyzing data and delivering actionable information that helps Senior Management make informed business decisions
- Organize portfolio data and contribute to IFC data strategy and governance
- Help business units define their needs in terms of portfolio data analytics and propose solutions in collaboration with IT
- Ensure the quality of information on client companies, including financial statement spreading
- Work with investment staff to improve and enhance data tools that can be employed directly for investment decisions
- Initiate approach to build AI/ML/advanced data scientist toolset
- Provide thought leadership and coordination among data scientist community within WBG
- Tackle current business problems, provide deeper insights into the portfolio
- R&D approach to proof of concepts, and upon success, further operationalize across organization
- Provide leadership on knowledge management from portfolio operations
Selection Criteria
Master’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of professional experience- Excellent command of IT, data, and finance concepts, acquired through academic or professional work
- Very strong analytical skills, capacity to identify and respond to strategic business needs
- Ability to work effectively across the organization
- Demonstrated leadership skills, creativity, and ability to foster innovation
- Experience in managing people, especially diverse teams. Training and mentoring expertise would be a plus
- Keen interest in IFC’s mission and business
