ABOUT THE TEAM

The product team at Side includes product management and user experience. Together, we strive to delight our customers (real estate professionals) by enabling them to own their own businesses, increase their productivity, and accelerate their growth. In addition, we streamline and automate internal business processes to create a fully automated system for processing real estate transactions and payments.
Our team is responsible for the end-to-end Side product experience from concept through launch and outcome measurement. We operate using agile methodology, leveraging customer and competitive insights to develop hypotheses and iterate on solutions. We believe that quality, urgency, collaboration, and transparency are critical to the product development process and strive to continually improve in these areas.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will be responsible for our end-to-end payments experience which includes a system for processing payments related to real estate transactions as well as implementing a new billing system to allow us to charge separate fees. You will drive the overall strategy and roadmap and divide execution with another payments product manager.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

    • Own the product vision and strategy for our payments and commissions systems and translate them into a multi-year product roadmap
    • Gather customer and data-based insights (in partnership with user research) to inform how we develop solutions to address internal and external user pain points in our quest to fully automate the payments process
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to guide your initiatives from concept through launch, including managing dependencies, measuring outcomes, and iterating
    • Create and execute rollout plans with cross-functional stakeholders such as other product teams, product marketing, sales, business management, and customer care teams
    • Facilitate communication to all levels of the organization, adjusting to each audience as needed

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU A STRONG FIT FOR THE ROLE?

    • Minimum 7 years of product management experience with 3+ years experience with payments (including experience integrating 3rd party billing providers such as Stripe)
    • Proven skill in developing product vision, strategy, and product roadmaps
    • Experience collaborating with engineering on more technical concepts (such as data models, backend services, etc)
    • Passion for customers and delivering solutions that delight them
    • Strong drive for delivering measurable results (including experience defining and instrumenting actionable product metrics)
    • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience in a fast-paced, startup environment with ability to move quickly despite ambiguity and roadblocks
    • Positive, can do attitude; always looking to learn and grow
    • Experience in the real estate industry, the transaction management/productivity space, and/or working with small businesses is a plus
    • B.A., or B.S.; CS degree a plus

COMPENSATION/PERKS

    • Side takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. This range is not inclusive of our equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
    • San Francisco Salary Range: $202,000 - $245,000
    • Remote Salary Range: $175,000 - $220,000
