Job Summary:
A Diagnostic Mechanic skilled technician who applies a broad level of process and mechanical/maintenance knowledge to maximize and, where possible, improve the efficiency of the overall production process. Employee will work under minimal supervision where the primary objective is safe production. Performs preventative maintenance to fixed plant equipment, troubleshoot problems on equipment. Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections. Ability to prioritize repairs and possess excellent decision making skills. Work closely with other team members to maintain a clean, safe work area. Proficient in layout and design and the ability to work from blueprint

Essential Functions:
Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities
Complete Work Orders, and other maintenance documentation
Ability to repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, troubleshoot and preventative maintenance of process equipment i.e. pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, filters, etc. Capable of performing equipment lubrication
Competent in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, bearings, conveyor systems, plumbing, alignment, blue prints, schematics, and mobile equipment.
Follows and understands MSHA rules and regulations, Environmental rules and regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities, uses plant and equipment correctly at all times.

Safely move/maneuver large equipment in close proximity to other equipment, persons and physical structures without endangering themselves or others due to vision (20/40 corrected both eyes) or hearing (vocal and mechanical warnings) deficiencies

Requirements

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) Required : High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Experience Required: Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
Skills Required: Proficiency in welding/cutting (MIG, TIG, ARC, Oxy-acetylene), Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, plumbing, machine shop, blue prints, schematics, fabrication, and part lists and repair. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair. Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English, ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
The pay-range for this position is from $20.00 p/hr to $32.00 p/hr based on experience.
