Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional recruiting firm is assisting our global manufacturing client with a Procurement Specialist position near Lake Mary, Florida.

Summary:

Coordinate activities and individuals involved with procuring goods and services to include raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand, establish, and issue RFP’s for Balance of Plant (BOP) procurements
  • Establish, evaluate, and select suppliers to develop a qualified supplier base
  • Support procurement activities including procurement of capital equipment and new projects
  • Problem solving of BOP and procurement issues as they arise
  • Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
  • Review and evaluate monthly global sourcing data to make decisions that support organization direction and growth
  • Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
  • Manage contracts to verify vendor compliance to contract requirements
  • Maintain informational exchanges and communications with groups and organizations contributing to the fulfillment of material demands
  • The ability to effectively handle orders with scope and/or contractual requirements of advanced complexity and advanced commercial and/or financial risk
  • Must have the ability to effectively handle multiple quotes and orders simultaneously and prioritize work
  • Provide a central point of coordination for the activities in this process

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-5 years' experience purchasing equipment
  • Knowledge and use of ERP system (SAP preferred, but not required)
  • RFP and RFQ experience
  • Previous experience executing purchase orders

Additional Information:

  • Contract position for a minimum of one year with the intention for full time conversion
  • Health benefits are available after 30 days of contract employment as well as 401k access
