About the XFL

The XFL is a fan-first, fast-paced professional football league powered by the combined partnership of owners Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and Redbird Capital Partners. The XFL will have innovative rules and enhanced in-game access, to create a highly engaging and entertaining experience for fans, and a new opportunity for players to play the game of football. Kicking off in February 2023.


About the Position

XFL is seeking Field Producer to join the XFL Content team. This group is responsible for the ideation and development of content strategies and deliverables for the League and its eight (8) teams.


The core responsibility is to conceptualize and create league video content on the XFL’s social media accounts and website. As the Field Producer, this creative, driven and self-efficient team member will also be responsible for advancing and guiding other members of the XFL’s growing video team.


The ideal candidate will have a passion for football and strong design sensibilities. This position will work closely with other members of the XFL Creative Studio and cross-functional teams to develop solutions and consistent design visuals that showcase a modern-day sports league, which is the XFL.


What you will do

  • Produce short and long-form video content for various XFL digital and social platforms in a self-efficient manner.
  • Conduct interviews and create content with XFL players, coaches and executives.
  • Initiate and create new social/digital video concepts.
  • Justify your ideas and decisions with well-informed rationale, while staying open to other effective solutions.
  • Promote video on-strategy ideas that are fresh, original and elevate the brand, and support the on-field product.
  • Establish best practices, strategies, equipment recommendations to provide guidance and mentorship to other XFL and team video shooters/producers/editors.
  • Manage workflow, schedule and projects from pre-production through edit and delivery, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Responsible for altering content to fit various platforms, i.e. shooting and editing in widescreen format for website/Facebook/Twitter AND taking same footage but creating an alternate version (square/vertical) for Instagram & Instagram stories.
  • Quality-assure XFL internal assets and maintain an organized active and archive drive of projects and files.
  • Collaborate with other departments – Creative Studio, Marketing, Partnerships, Game/Event Operations, and Football Ops – to align on creative objectives.
  • Keep current on the latest techniques of video production, shooting, editing, and technology; seek new and innovative techniques.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of related work experience in TV/Digital/Post production
  • 4+ years of editing experience with applications such as a non-linear editing software such as Adobe Premier
  • Experience with field production, managing a video/film shoot and producing/directing on-air talent, athletes, coaches, etc.
  • Experience in shooting with professional and consumer cameras a plus
  • Strong knowledge of digital and social platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Capable of handling and organizing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven track record of creative and innovative thinking, effective storytelling, action and results
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-based, ever-changing environment while remaining organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of football (formations, Xs and Os, terminology, history) a plus but not mandatory
  • Willing and able to travel and work weekends

Additional Details

  • Please note, the location of this role is Arlington, TX.
  • Primarily works in a remote office and/or an office environment but may include attending select games and events in XFL team markets.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
