Vitality Group, a subsidiary of Discovery Limited is responsible for the expansion of the Vitality Shared-Value Insurance business model beyond South Africa and the UK, serving to fully leverage the assets and intellectual property of Discovery beyond its primary markets. The business forms equity or contractual partnerships with leading global insurers to integrate Vitality and shared value with partner’s insurance and financial services products in the markets where they operate. Vitality Group also operates a business providing wellness solutions to employer groups in the United States. Vitality Health International, a business unit within Vitality Group coordinates and focuses on resource allocation to Discovery’s emerging, global health insurance initiatives. Vitality Group is also responsible for Discovery’s 25 percent equity investment in Ping and Health, the largest comprehensive medical insurer in China.

Vitality’s Product Team is seeking a Product Manager to take new features and products from high-level concept to working product. The PM will work within our SAFe frameworks and tools to define requirements, work with stakeholders to drive consensus, and work closely with multiple software development teams to see the product vision through to the end. They should have a passion for creating great products, improving and enhancing our members’ lives and making our clients happy.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
- Drive the entire vision and delivery of new products and features from high-level concept to delivery
- Work with R&D and strategy groups to understand desired features and document their rules
- Create detailed scope documents (e.g. Vision and Scope) which will be used by internal stakeholders to design, develop, train, and market the products
- Helps define feature-level key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Be an active participant in the SAFe framework processes, including PI Planning, ART Syncs, etc.
- Proactively collaborate, get sign-off and input from all internal stakeholders and external if applicable
- Define design requirements and actively participate in design sprints to ensure designs meet business requirements and strategy
- Clearly communicate strategy and goals to project teams and ensuring delivery against them
- Engage stakeholders in research, data, and support, and a coordinate across teams to maintain product and strategy alignment
- Provide input into go-to-market strategies when launching a new product or feature
- Work with marketing, sales, and training to ensure accuracy of product feature in their deliverables
- Maintain a backlog of work for development teams
- Suggest and prioritize enhancements to products
- Understand our users, define requirements and use cases, and ensure the needs of users are fulfilled by the technical products within your domain.
- Potentially manage non-technical Product Owners who will drive feature requirements and go-to-market requirements
Requirements
- 5 + yrs as a product owner, manager, or related position
- Ability to distil business strategy into product vision and scope
- Ability articulate product objectives to technical, operational, and business management audiences
- Ability to understand complex technical systems and multiparty integrations
- Ability to develop and maintain a product roadmap

- Deep knowledge of the Vitality loop and V1 platforms
- Deep understanding of the JHV and MLI products, business rules, and supporting technology

Pay: $77,320.96 - $130,000.00 per year
