Job description
Product Manager’s primary purpose is to work in the field with current and potential new customers, both pre-and post-sales. Requires extensive communication and planning with the field-based AE’s and RVP’s, with PMO and other support teams, and with customers. The Product Manager’s ventilation knowledge and experience in the respiratory therapy market is essential to inform our customers of the advantages of the Nihon Kohden Ventilation platform; and to guide their education on its use after the sale.
Target salary is $87,000 or above, depending on years of experience and expertise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAIN DUTIES
- Works with NKOM on product development, issues, concerns, marketing materials and RFP’s
- Works with key stakeholders from product management, operations, engineering, quality, regulatory, IT, clinical and the executive team to define program strategy, roadmap, and requirements. Develops metrics and reporting to track and communicate to management.
- Serves as product expert and champion. Define and develop marketing assets, collateral, programs, and campaigns to create awareness to drive demand generation, opportunity acceleration, clinical demand, and brand value.
- Develops and provides clinical/product training materials, tools, collateral and plans necessary for enabling success of the company’s ventilation business.
- Occasionally visits customer sites with the field-based AE/RVP for promotion, demonstrations, and pre-sales discussions regarding Nihon Kohden ventilators.
- Collaborates with other Business Units to identify and create value of connectivity and interoperability across platforms to provide a unified Nihon Kohden brand and experience.
- Ensures Ventilation Product information is accurate and current on the NKA website and support material.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Certification / Experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Sciences, Healthcare Management or related discipline; relevant education and experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
- 3+ years of experience in respiratory therapy
- Adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient experience preferred
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapy Credential preferred
- Active Respiratory Therapy License preferred

- Ability to successfully manage large financial budgets
- Clinical and technical expertise in medical devices and technology
- Good conceptual, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate and influence with all facets of the organization including Marketing, Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Clinical, Sales, and Technical Service.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment

WORKING CONDITIONS
SCHEDULE: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department and are subject to change at any time at the Company’s discretion.
PHYSICAL: Generally may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 20 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision, and 2-way written/verbal communication in English. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.
TRAVEL: Approximately 30%
ACCESS to CUSTOMER SITES: It is an essential function of this position to perform duties in healthcare facilities, and to achieve the necessary vendor credentialing. As part of this process, it is typically required to provide proof of vaccinations (including for COVID-19), and related personal medical information, and to comply with other criteria as needed to be able to work at customer sites. Typical vendor credentialing expenses will be paid/reimbursed by the Company.
