PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Owens Corning North American Technical Insulation (NATI) is growth engine for Insulation Division. The Product Manager role will play a lead role in developing and executing programs that deliver growth for the markets we serve. They will also be responsible for supporting product growth strategies and executing segment specific product, service, volume, and price plans for our business.
Reports to: Strategic Marketing Leader, Core Thermals
Span of Control: Individual Contributor; but could have a Strategic Analyst Development Program or intern direct report for key growth projects, if applicable.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Product Manager will be accountable for contributing to strategy and business planning including:
Own the Product Line
- Develop strategic and tactical plans for growing sales and profitability of the business across specific markets for Flexible ducts (FDM) and Metal Building (MBI) products identify emerging trends, situation analysis and key issues for the business
- Develop a broad and deep understanding of our competitors and ensure our products have a differentiated value proposition
- Recommend a portfolio of systems/solutions and go-to-market strategies for adoption
- Own and develop 7P strategy to make sure that all areas are aligned in what we need to do for our Product lines
- Identify, as appropriate, opportunities to expand beyond our core businesses to drive growth for OC
- Lead the execution of product projects through the Stage Gate process, including ownership of business cases in partnership with internal teams (Sales, S&T, manufacturing, etc.)
- Measuring, tracking, and reporting Program ROI and EBIT to Technical Insulation leadership
- Make sure solid CFFUs (Customer Fit for Use) documentation is in place with testing for clear alignment on product in market
- Partner with channel marketing team to develop and execute integrated marketing programs that drive the desired behavior changes for our strategic targets.
- Report out monthly on product line profitability, sales, quality and other key metrics to leadership teams
Develop & Execute 5 Year Product Roadmap
- Lead the development and execution of 5-year product roadmap. This includes new product introductions, as well as system solutions that enable our customers to win in the marketplace.
- Leverage Market Insights, Customer Discovery, and Human Centered Design to develop compelling business cases for product or business model innovation.
- Drive Voice of Customer events and research, and translate into actionable products, marketing programs and/or business opportunities with solid CFFUs in place
- Leverage in-Depth knowledge of product and markets with customers to help sales drive strong placement and future areas of growth
Lead the Ongoing Health & Profitability of Product Line
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute profitable portfolio strategy
- Develop and implement SKU rationalization principles and service guidelines, balancing product strategy and working capital goals.
- Coordinate product positioning, messaging, pricing and promotions to ensure the business delivers on its revenue and price attainment goals while avoiding unnecessary channel conflict
- Ongoing market assessment to identify mix, customer trends and margin drivers along with associated business recommendations.
- Support the alignment of channel strategies to exploit the strengths of the product portfolio, geographic coverage and service capabilities
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field required. MBA preferred.
- At least 3 years of Product Management experience, construction materials segment preferred
- Successfully executed full product / service management including positioning, pricing strategy, margin management, investments, and channel management.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of time

- Experience with segmentation and defining strategic brand/product targets
- Collaboration with top customers to develop mutually beneficial growth plans
- Obtained customer, market, and competitive insight
- Developed of successful internal and external relationships (including with, research & development, operations, finance, sales, and external suppliers is highly desired.)
- Experience encouraging ideas and possibilities through candor, open discussion, and constructive debate
