Job description
Remote | United States | Revenue | Full-time
At Luna, our mission is to make quality, affordable vision care accessible for all.
Our diverse team is working to advance the vision industry with an ever-growing collection of innovative solutions designed to address the toughest challenges facing eyewear businesses and doctors. We offer suites of products and services that improve and increase vision prescription access, streamline online shopping with virtual try-on and facial measurements, and support fulfillment and delivery.
We partner with forward-looking eyewear retailers and brands, as well as eye doctors and optical shops, to accelerate their digital transformation with end-to-end solutions that revolutionize vision experiences online, offline, and everywhere in-between. Our solutions are currently used by over 10 million users each month, all around the world.
We have a diverse, talented group of thirty Revenue team members expected to grow to fifty in the next year. Our marketing team is moving swiftly to support this growth, which means you will need to wear lots of hats, be proactive, and be ready to have a massive impact. We are looking for a Product Marketing Director ready to own all things product marketing — collaborating with the rest of the Marketing team and the Product team (among others) to create and execute go-to-market strategies for our solutions.
Why you want this job:
- You enjoy clearly and concisely explaining a product's value to its target market — building the bridge between the product and why a prospect needs it.
- You love seeing a product go successfully from development to in-market through wicked-awesome sales, marketing, and support materials.
- You are excited about the fact that the addition of your expertise in product marketing to our team will help us move mountains.
- You are a leader and a problem solver — and working with a team that is committed to succeeding energizes you.
- You work well with stakeholders from diverse groups and communicate needs clearly across the entire team.
What you'll do:
Primarily be responsible for providing the strategy and drive behind Luna's product marketing — at the intersection of Product, Marketing, and Sales — as we work together to achieve our goals. Having a global view of our solutions and target clients will be a key component of this role.
- Collaborating with our Product and Marketing teams, develop product positioning and messaging for each of Luna's solutions
- Create go-to-market strategies for Luna's solutions, by market, target segment, etc.
- Conduct market research, produce competitive analyses, and propose pricing
- Plan and execute the rollout of new products/new markets/etc. in collaboration with our go-to-market teams.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Client Success teams to develop and roll-out go-to-market sales enablement materials and support tools to increase both conversion and retention, including "battle cards," videos, slide decks, training materials, implementation best practices, client marketing materials, prospect marketing campaigns, and nurture program optimization
- Drive the development and execution of product-specific content to fill our sales pipeline and support existing clients, as well as grow Luna's position as a leader in the vision industry
- Identify challenges and roadblocks in current plans and strategies, and collaborate with other go-to-market team members to propose solutions
- Provide input to the Product team regarding product development, features, prioritization, and pricing
What you'll need:
- 7-15 years' experience in marketing, preferably product marketing
- Experience in management consulting working with SaaS companies or participating on go-to-market teams at SaaS companies
- Proven ability to communicate a product's value clearly and concisely to the market
- Expertise in market research and analysis
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Project management experience, specifically with developing content assets
- A knack for numbers and a keen eye for quality design and copywriting
- Familiarity with marketing tech tools like HubSpot, WordPress, Salesforce, Asana, Google Analytics, etc.
- Innovative, proactive, and resourceful problem-solving skills
- Data-driven approach to testing and learning
- Deep organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Natural collaborator and team player with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a startup environment or on a small and agile team within a larger organization
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or business discipline — MBA a plus! — or equivalent work experience
