Herzog Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Product Owner in Fort Worth, TX to join our team.
The Product Owner is the professional responsible for ensuring a common vision for a product and maximizing the value delivered through setting, prioritizing, and accepting the work generated by the development team.
The Product Owner will gather feature requests, schedule releases and coordinate sprints. They will interface with the customer to identify user needs, help stakeholders understand the business value and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases.
The Product Owner role is important as they are responsible for the delivery of a product that realizes Herzog’s vision and satisfies the needs of our customers.
HTI is developing industry-leading products, and at the forefront of Positive Train Control. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who is always learning; has demonstrated attention to detail and flexibility; can work well individually; and works well with others. The job includes mostly office work and will require occasional travel.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Act as the voice of the customer to guide all stages of software development, including user story development, sprint planning, and prioritization of the product backlog.
- Work with internal and external customers to analyze the needs and align product vision to strategic goals.
- Work with business and technical stakeholders to develop and document user stories.
- Lead sprint planning to determine the team’s objectives for the upcoming sprint.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.
- Prioritize and maintain the product backlog.
- Own the product vision.
- Accountable for the created product(s), delivering the product model and communicating the product needs with business partners.
- Develop scope and define backlog items (epic/features/user stories) that guide the development team and ensure work focuses on delivering maximum value that is aligned with the product vision.
- Analyze feedback from sprint reviews, and other data such as end user feedback and operational metrics, to identify and understand product needs.
- Work with the development team to create acceptance criteria and definitions of failures and done.
- Represents team to stakeholders, clients or users.
- Collaborate with product management and senior management to create a product that fits the company portfolio.
- Set expectations with business stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of relevant work experience with experience in a product owner role preferred.
- Ability to understand complex business problems and identify and interpret business needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of agile development methodologies.
- Ability to stimulate innovative ideas and approaches to processes and opportunities.
- Ability to analyze proposed changes for impact on an existing system or system design.
- Ability to absorb complex requirements and propose an effective solution.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate as part of a team.
- Ability to balance business, design, and technical constraints.
- Willingness to explain technical decisions and work in an environment of continuous feedback.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
