General Summary of Position:

Granite’s Product Systems Engineering team designs and engineers high-profile, modern, secure platforms, including the FlexEdge and Epik family of products. We are looking for engineers preferably with experience in Software Development, Linux administration, Network deployment and configuration, cloud-based infrastructure and services, DevOps automation and support for many different applications and services. The right candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently or as a team member. Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment and learn new technologies quickly. Must be able to communicate well and work as part of a team. You will be improving and integrating existing tools and applications as well as creating new applications and products for both internal and customer-facing systems. Your team will be a highly dedicated and collaborative group of engineers working together to come up with innovative solutions to technical challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support Granite’s products by developing and deploying a wide array of applications for troubleshooting, provisioning, monitoring, auditing and reporting
• Maintain existing applications, responding to bugs, changes, and feature requests
• Working with cloud-based infrastructure and services. For example, working with AWS and GCP services
• Working with premise based infrastructure and services. For example working with vmware, baremetal servers.
• Night/overnight work sometimes required

Required Qualifications:

• Desire to learn new things and practice continuous self-improvement
• Self-starter, goal-oriented, ability to work independently without micromanagement
• Strong development skills in one or more programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Go, Rust, C, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of Systems Administration, Networking and/or IP Telephony
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and microservice application architecture
• Understanding of cloud computing platforms such as AWS/GCP/Azure and development of cloud-native applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desire to log and document work. Desire to communicate what you are working on to a wider team.
• Strong *nix systems administration experience
• Experience administering routers and switches

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years professional experience in software development or entry level certification equivalent (CCNA, RHCSA, etc)
• Development experience with frameworks such as Flask/Django/Spring, React, NodeJS
• Experience with premise virtualization solutions such as vmware and cloud virtualization such as AWS
• Experience with web based services operations and development
