PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Manage the manufacturing material flow of the assigned functions using MRP and other available tools for planning. This includes releasing the orders for manufactured parts and reviewing inventory quantities in order to maintain customer delivery schedules.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and release manufacturing work orders for manufactured parts.
- Assist shop supervisor in monitoring material flow, adjusting item master parameters, and verifying transaction accuracy.
- Release work orders to machine shop as needed.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity within the planning system.
- Assist shop supervisors with setting priorities to maintain 100% delivery performance for assigned areas.
- Rescheduling and expediting parts as needed.
- Maintain a material shortage report for assigned areas. This includes checking on and expediting components as needed working with shop supervisors and purchasing buyers.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing and shop floor environment.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A good understanding of material flow through a machine shop.
- Must have good organizational and communication skills.
- Must have a good working knowledge of managing the capacity of a manufacturing shop.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be able to work in manufacturing systems.
- Knowledge of an ERP system.
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
- Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
- Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
- General manufacturing, warehouse, and office environment.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
