Job description
Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the supervision of assigned employees. Ensures compliance with quality standards, customer order specifications, and company policies.
- Assist with production and staff scheduling to meet customer needs. Coordinate with supervisors between departments to create a smooth workflow on the manufacturing floor.
- Oversee equipment upkeep, safety and housekeeping needs for specified areas. Contact safety and maintenance as needed to address issues.
- Anticipates and trouble shoots problems with jobs and/or equipment and coordinates with other departments for resolution. Ensures that all equipment is operational and maintained per specifications.
- Administers personnel functions for the departments including interviews and hiring, performance evaluations and disciplinary action. Focus on team lead and employee development for promotional opportunities.
- Build a strong working relationship with employees to handle training, coaching and performance improvement.
- Supervise employees on shift. Ensures that established policies, rules, regulations and procedures are followed.
- Champion Barnes Enterprise System and Lean Manufacturing measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years working in a manufacturing environment
- Three plus years’ experience in supervisory capacity
- Excellent leadership and team skills required. Able to effectively interface at all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of processes and machines related to products manufactured within a given business unit
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team player approach
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or another related field highly preferred
- High School Diploma or GED Required
