Reporting to Human Resources, this position provides job specific training to ensure that all applicable safety rules, quality and production systems are known and followed. Teaches the Hutchinson Production System and insures that it is being fully utilized for trainee to understand how systems support making a good part. Work methods are taught to promote standardized work for consistent and repeatable processes throughout the organization while maintaining company standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Trains employees to maintain a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring proper safety guards and personal protective equipment are utilized. Sets expectations for good housekeeping in a production environment.
  • Understands knowledge of tools, molds, machinery, process equipment, and resources used in the production operations. Must be able to listen and instruct others in any number of proven methods of production.
  • Instruct employees, both on the floor and in a class room setting, on basic techniques and requirements of the Hutchinson Production System. This includes quality system basics such as; first piece process, error proof testing, operator instructions, gauging, process monitoring, label system and associated documentation for safety and production paperwork.
  • Must be able to develop and produce training materials for teaching.
  • Provides training in the proper use of machines, tools, molds and equipment.
  • Must understand production demand, shipping schedules and be able to communicate to trainee the processes necessary to maintain repetitive production flow of materials, required quantities, production paperwork and visual boards.
  • Must have a good understanding of “fit, form and function” as it pertains to the parts being made.
  • Must be able to certify trainees in specific job skills and systems and maintain training records and documentation in all required Learning Management Systems
  • New Hire badge creation and train on proper use
  • Coordinate and facilitate supplemental training for current employees
  • Maintenance of employee and training records in the proper Learning Management Systems
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma; or three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have hands on experience in several production processes, including molding (including TOG/ROG), and finishing operations to support training of other employees.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively about line processes to Hutchinson personnel. Good verbal communication skills with co-workers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using coded data, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute efficiency, yields, and interprets bar graphs.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet applications, Microsoft applications and internet research.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving both people and or production problems.
