Job Title : On-Site Event Crew+ Managers

Event Special Effects, also known as EFX, is a company located in Monrovia, California specializing in special effects, print, and custom fabrication. The foundation of the company started in live effects such as snow machines, cryo, lasers, lighting, and much more. Over the years the company has grown to provide services both nationally and internationally to top corporations, studios, and theme parks such as, but not limited to, Amazon, Casio, Disneyland, LEGOLAND, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Paramount Pictures. Through its success, EFX has blossomed into different industries and now provides services to in highly regarded trade-shows such as CES, Beauty Con, Magic, SEMA, NAMM, ComicCon and D23.

We are looking for sharp candidates to fulfill our onsite managers opening that have experience in the production industry, self-motivated, and attain problem solving capabilities. Potential managers must have great communication skills that must be displayed with the crew, clients and anyone associated within the vicinity. Character and good judgment must always be present while on the field. Critical thinkers and individuals that need little or no supervision is highly recommended. Managers we are looking for

  • Have a “can make it” attitude. Generally, our focus is to present the best quality of work. Always maintaining a great attitude to strive and produce the best outcome is essential.
  • Clean cut and well groomed. Physical presentation is important and must be displayed at all times.
  • Work etiquette minded.
  • Punctual and event ready. Event ready focuses on being on time, ready to lead the crew and produce a show from beginning to end.
  • Crew and Managerial experience in the production industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; team builder, able to develop, organize and motivate employees in many different disciplines at varied skill/experience levels.
  • Valid California Driver License with experience driving production vehicles. (cargo vans and 24’- 26’ box truck is highly recommended)
  • Experience working with power tools.
  • Experience working at trade-show booths and convention centers.
  • Some knowledge in the graphics world.
  • Experience working with lighting
  • Truss structure (arches, cubical, or any modified structure) experience is expected. As well as stage platform (stage decking) experience is also expected.
  • Flexibility is key.
  • Education such as degrees is not required, but definitely a plus if you do

Compensation- Starting wage

Crew- $17- $22

Managers- $24- $30

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Since we are a production , some productions may require covid testing . Vaccination is not required but recommended.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Production/Event: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Preferred)
