Position Summary
The Land Surveyor will be responsible for preparing sites for managing the preparation and review of all manner of boundary and topographic surveys prepared by the surveying support staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute, and review land surveys to establish legal boundaries of property.
- Perform boundary resolution based upon deed research
- Train junior staff in surveying related tasks and skills
- Researches the area or assignment, including previous surveys and boundary lines.
- Incorporate the use of current and emerging technologies into the survey department
- Prepare proposals for land surveying projects
- Prepare expert opinions and reports related to surveying projects
- Collaborates with engineering and architectural staff, clients, and other invested individuals to review and coordinate findings.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local surveying laws; rules, regulations, and county ordinances; and policies, procedures, and best practices relative to land surveying.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelors Degree in Surveying or related field.
- Valid PLS licensure.
- Excellent mathematical skills to conduct land survey analysis.
- Familiarity with Autocad and/or related programs
- Thorough understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of land surveying.
- Thorough understanding of federal and state laws related to land surveying and subdivision of land.
- Keen attention to detail
- Proficient with computerized mapping technologies and surveying instruments, and the computer applications and software used to process field data.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
- Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to the teams success
- Able to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven work environment
- Valid drivers license and must be able to travel to multiple sites each day in a company provided vehicle.

We support public and private clients in a wide range of markets throughout the entire life cycle of the project, from initial concept and feasibility to project completion and lifecycle maintenance. Our services are provided on projects throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania by licensed Professional Engineers (PE), Professional Planners (PP), Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRP), and Professional Land Surveyors (PLS). We are a registered Small Business Enterprise (SBE) with offices in High Bridge, Asbury Park, and Netcong, NJ as well as Philadelphia, PA.
