About This Opportunity

We are seeking a Program Analyst. Cascade Energy is the third-party contractor responsible for the delivery of the Bonneville Power Administration’s (BPA) Energy Smart Industrial (ESI) program. ESI is a multifaceted, large-scale industrial efficiency program offered through BPA’s utility customers in the Pacific Northwest.
The Program Analyst applies data and organizational skills to provide ongoing operational, administrative, strategic, and logistical reporting support to ESI’s Strategic Energy Management (SEM) program. This is a dynamic role with duties encompassing a range of tasks and autonomous projects in support of ESI’s goals and KPIs. The Program Analyst is highly organized, enjoys using data to develop stories or approaches that point to new insights, tools, Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and reporting to advance operational performance, efficiency, and decision-making. The Program Analyst also enjoys exercising a high level of proficiency in key software programs, such as SharePoint Online, PowerSuite, and Excel with enthusiasm for developing additional system knowledge as required.
What You Will Be Doing:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Review the program contract to fully understand tracking and reporting requirements, revenue sources, and customer expectations.
  • Attend key meetings alongside the Energy Management Program Manager.
  • Complete projects and special assignments related to program operations by establishing objectives, determining priorities, managing time, gaining cooperation and input from others, monitoring progress, problem-solving, and ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Creation, auditing, and ongoing management of program reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. May include use of program-specific software programs (SharePoint, Ajera, Asana, Energy Sensei, Power BI, and others) to support team tracking and reporting needs.
  • Maintain systems and reporting for the collection, data visualization and analysis of key delivery KPI’s (savings data, pipeline, strategic advisor, budget/cost analysis trends, billable targets, and benchmarking).
  • Collect, aggregate, and explore data, using it to draw conclusions and illustrate opportunities for operational improvements and consistency.
  • Assist the Energy Management team with high level project and program support, including assembling sophisticated reports, analyzing large data sets, and extrapolating appropriate materials for the team.
  • Assist with the development, production, maintenance, and distribution of marketing materials and report templates.

This is a full-time, exempt position. The position may be fully remote, in-office, or a hybrid. Preference will be given to applicants near one of the following Cascade offices: Portland, Walla Walla, Issaquah, or Boise.
Minimal travel is anticipated for this role. Approximately 5%
Qualifications

Applicants for this role are required to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, behavioral science, or equivalent relative technical background
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in a relevant role, with a track record of escalating responsibility over time
  • Experience managing many customers and programs across multiple locations.
  • Ability to understand and foster the customer relationship and successfully weave clients’ needs (and contractual requirements) into KPIs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an affinity for adapting conversational content into data for analysis and an ability to proofread with attention to grammar, style, and technical detail.
  • Ability to make independent judgements or ask for assistance in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to address situations based on all available facts and information.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems (e.g., SharePoint databases and workflows) while helping internal and external customers use and navigate the site.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, achieving satisfaction from meeting tight deadlines and displaying strength in multitasking.
  • Proficient with SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Platform suite (Power BI), with expert-level Excel and Word skills.

A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:

  • Experience in the energy industry or demand-side management programs preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. These include health (90% paid for team member, 80% paid for dependents), vision, FSA or HSA options with an employer contribution, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, 401k retirement plan with a guaranteed 3% contribution, Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), annual cash performance bonus, paid vacation, sick time, and an inclusive, flexible paid holiday policy.
The salary range for this position in Portland is $68,800 - $83,800/year. However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location if different than the above.
