Responsibilities
Job Summary:
This job is responsible for supporting the planning, development and evaluation of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) operations, business ventures, partnerships, business/clinical initiatives and other strategic initiatives that facilitate growth and increased market relevance for the organization. In coordination with VMFH leadership, medical staff and partners, an incumbent facilitates strategic planning, assessment and intervention planning so as to optimize operational performance and access goals/targets, achieve synergies, improve quality, safety and customer service, reduce costs and/or improve VMFH market position. Activities are multi-faceted and span acute, business/support services, clinical services, strategic service lines, physician enterprise and new ventures and/or acquisitions.
This job is pivotal in developing and maintaining relationships with key leaders and management to achieve clinical and business performance goals. Key contacts include senior management at a local/national levels, executive/service line management, physician/dyad leaders, partner leaders and multiple cross-functional or cross-organizational teams where diplomacy, situational self-awareness, leadership presence, conflict resolution and consensus-building skills are critical. Strong change management skills are required as well as the ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external committee/work groups/partners to facilitate timely and effective response to business needs, priorities and opportunities to promote the transition to new health care delivery models.

Qualifications
Education/Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Planning, Economics, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Management Engineering or related discipline, and three years of related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities.
- Master’s degree in a discipline related to the requirements of the position may be substituted for two years of the experience requirement.
