The Louisiana Public Health Institute is a statewide, non-profit organization that has been promoting the health and wellbeing of Louisianans since 1997. LPHI is made up of over 100 employees based throughout the state in all nine Louisiana Department of Health regions. We accomplish our goals alongside our over 500 partner organizations at the local, state, and national levels, which include community-based organizations, foundations, healthcare systems, academic institutions, government agencies, and a cadre of additional stakeholders. Position Summary
LPHI’s Family Health Team is focused on increasing access to and quality of health information and services to support optimal health across the lifespan. We believe that all people deserve access to high-quality education and services and support maternal and child health, school health, adolescent health, and reproductive and sexual health through training and technical assistance, research, policy and advocacy, and clinical quality improvement.
The Program Manager will be responsible for the successful planning and implementation of multiple projects in the Family Health team in collaboration with local and national partners. The program manager will develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables and be responsible for project implementation and reporting. This position will coordinate and monitor activities of internal teams, external contractors, and engaged partners for assigned projects.
The Program Manager will be supervised by the Family Health Senior Program Manager and will work collaboratively with other teams within LPHI.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in public health, social sciences, or related field required or a bachelor’s degree plus equivalent experience.
- At least three (3) years’ professional experience in public health or closely related content area.
- Strong project management experience.
- Experience working on public health or social determinants of health initiatives to advance state, local or national policies.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including but not limited to community-based organizations, healthcare organizations, and public health agencies
- Experience supervising individuals and/or leading teams.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- *Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Develop project plans, manage timelines, and ensure high quality deliverables.
- Track projects’ activities and progress and fulfill reporting requirements for project milestones to partners and/or funders.
- In collaboration with supervisor, support budgeting, contracting, and other administrative processes for the team.
- Support the Family Health Team in planning, implementation, and evaluation of trainings, events, and summits.
- Perform operational functions including facilitating meetings, developing agendas, and assisting with post-meeting follow up.
- Plan, implement, and facilitate program activities.
- Develop and strengthen good working relationships with outside partners and across LPHI teams.
Strategic Planning and Development
- Develop strategy and system-level approaches to coordinate efforts internally and among stakeholders.
- Support proposal and business development activities, including but not limited to drafting letters of support, compiling supporting materials, populating templates, and reviewing drafts.
- Provide cross-organizational support and strategic guidance for initiatives that intersect with Family Health Team special populations and content focus (e.g., youth, LGBTQ+, sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health), including development of programming.
- Work across team to identify and facilitate sharing of lessons learned, best practices, and tools.
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and implement training and technical assistance to multi-sector partners based in best practices of health promotion.
- Support healthcare providers’ implementation of new services by planning and facilitating practice coaching sessions.
- Lead and manage the preparation and dissemination of project-related communications such as reports to funders, interim and final reports to clients, stakeholders and/or the community, presentations, messaging to project partners, and LPHI newsletters and social media.
- In partnership with the Policy and Equity Team, engage stakeholders in policy and advocacy efforts that impact Family Health initiatives.
- Facilitate and assist in the development of coalitions funded by the Family Health Team.
- Attend and actively participate in team and LPHI-wide meetings.

Starting Salary: $50,000 dependent on education and experience. A competitive benefits package is offered to all LPHI full-time staff.
